Once you have a Starknet wallet, you will need some ETH to pay the gas fee. So you need to set up the wallet by adding funds to it.
You can use StarkGate, a bridge that transfers funds between your Ethereum wallet on L1 and your Starknet wallet on L2. You can go to StarkGate from this link: https://starkgate.starknet.io/
Procedure
1- Click on "Connect Wallet" on the top right of the app, StarkGate will prompt you to choose an Ethereum wallet.
2- Click on the Ethereum wallet you wish to use. In this example, select MetaMask, assuming it's already installed.
3- When your wallet prompts you to connect, approve the connection.StarkGate will complete the connection, and your Ethereum wallet will be connected.
4- When StarkGate will ask you to connect a Starknet wallet, click on "Connect Starknet Wallet."
5- When the wallets you've connected to your browser appear, click on the Starknet wallet you want to use.
7- StarkGate will complete the connection.
Your Starknet wallet is now connected and will prompt you to add funds. To deploy your account on Starknet, you need to add funds. NOTE: Deploying an account incurs a small gas fee on Ethereum, but don't worry; you only need to deploy the account once.
8- Confirm that you're on the "Deposit" tab.
StarkGate allows you to select from various token types. This example uses the default token, ETH. Ensure that the available balance in your Ethereum wallet is sufficient to transfer funds and cover the gas required for the transfer.
9- Enter the amount of ETH you want to transfer.
10- Your Ethereum wallet will prompt you to confirm the transfer. Your wallet might also display the estimated transaction cost. For instance, MetaMask will show approximately how much gas is needed to execute the transfer, along with the cost of the required gas in ETH and USD.
11- Confirm the transfer in your Ethereum wallet.
12- StarkGate will confirm the transaction and display its status, including links to Etherscan and StarkScan, so you can view the transaction on both Ethereum and Starknet:
13- After a short time, typically a few minutes, StarkGate should show updated balances in your Ethereum and Starknet wallets.
🎉🎉Congratulations You have successfully bridged your Ether from the Ethereum network to the Starknet network
